Home Depot is more than just alright with me. Dude, I am LOVING Home Depot. You may remember my rant about Menards and vow never to go there again. So even though it’s farther away than Menards, I decided that I would go to Home Depot first, not really expecting to find what I needed but I thought I’d give it a shot.
Our baby swing is in tatters, the rope is unraveling and we’ve just been waiting for it to snap. It looks terrible and causes fits when Harper wants to be pushed but no one is free or willing to push. So we went out today looking for a replacement. Something more interesting than a swing, but something that I could just hook right into the swing hooks.
As soon as I walked into the store, a woman asked me if I needed help. I explained what I was looking for, and she walked me all the way back to the where the stuff was and started pulling out possibilities. I noticed that all the choices seemed to require installation, and she seemed to think it would be easy. I was seeming pretty skeptical about my abilities, so she called a guy over from lumber to explain it to me. He seemed to think it would be easy. He tried explaining it to me and I was expressing my discomfort with it when she said, “Are you free to run over and hang it for her?” And it wasn’t an exasperated offer, it was a genuinely nice offer. I expressed some concern about the cost of it (although I was going to pay it regardless because my ineptitude at home repairs is legendary) and she said it would be at no cost, they just wanted happy customers.
I am one happy customer. Home Depot, you are my new place for everything home related.
